Pelatihan Tanggap Bencana: Pilah Sampah Agar Terhindar Bencana Pada Siswa SDN 1 Desa Jarak Jombang

Abstract

Indonesia is located between three major plates of the world, including the Indo-Australian, Eurasian, and Pacific plates where the activity of these plates causes the surface base starting from mountainous areas with steep slopes to have the potential for landslides, floods, tsunamis, and landslide debris. The purpose of this community service held on December 14, 2023 is to make students of SDN 1 Jarak, Jombang Regency to be responsive in facing disasters, especially landslides. The method used was disaster response training as a strategy to prevent disasters and care for the environment. The students are taught about the knowledge of how to sort waste properly and dispose of waste according to the designated trash can. In addition, students will be trained to sort waste around them by doing a roleplay of sorting waste in the classroom. The results showed that students experienced an increase in environmental awareness as a disaster response effort.
