Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides new opportunities to improve the quality of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning, particularly through the development of interactive, contextual, and adaptive learning media. This study aims to design and develop Artificial Intelligence-based IRE learning media at Rahmat Islamiyah Junior High School, Medan. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach consisting of needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and assessment of the developed learning media. The media development process utilized several AI-based technologies to produce visual materials, interactive presentations, learning videos, and assessment instruments that support the IRE learning process. The findings indicate that the use of AI can assist teachers in producing more varied and engaging learning media that are aligned with students' characteristics. The developed media also supports teachers in integrating IRE materials with digital technology more effectively. Therefore, the development of AI-based IRE learning media can serve as an alternative learning innovation to support the improvement of the learning process at Rahmat Islamiyah Junior High School, Medan.
